How to use ASACLEAN
for injection machines

Follow purging-compound flow from hopper through screw and barrel out the nozzle — with the Baseline Protocol and a check sequence that makes site trials compare cleanly.

BASELINE PROTOCOL

Set the baseline before screw-rotation cleaning

Controlled terms so screw and barrel purge in the same cycle, with systematic before-after comparison.

Hold starting temperature inside the ASACLEAN grade range before moving to the next resin temperature.

No single value fits every machine: Back pressure, screw speed and temperature must stay inside machine, resin and selected-grade TDS bounds. With Hot Runner, filter, check ring or special nozzle, consult technicians first.
STANDARD WORKFLOW

9 steps of ASACLEAN for injection machines

Sequence stresses separating old resin, cleaning the system, checking discharge, and prepping for the next resin.

Drain previous resin fully

Drain hopper and barrel resin until no old material flows, avoiding needless ASACLEAN dilution.

Clean the hopper before feeding ASACLEAN

Wipe hopper and feed zone free of old-resin pellets, color and dust.

Purge by screw rotation

Feed ASACLEAN into the barrel and rotate per the Baseline Protocol to carry material through screw channels and nozzle.

Eyeball the drained color

Catch discharge in a safe tray; track color, black residue and contaminants to improving trend per defined criteria.

Set temperature for the next resin to run

Shift to the next resin temperature without leaving the ASACLEAN grade range still in the machine.

Clean the hopper before the next resin feed

Re-check hopper and feed throat so no ASACLEAN or debris mixes into production resin.

Drain ASACLEAN by screw-rotation cleaning

Same as the cleaning round, pushing leftover ASACLEAN out of the barrel.

Eyeball the discharged ASACLEAN

Confirm even-colored flow with no visible old resin, carbon or contaminants.

Verify molded parts

Feed next resin and check first parts to color, speck, size, surface and plant quality criteria.

ADVANCED PURGING METHODS

Screw rotation, or assisted Short Injection

Start with the Screw Rotation Method for general barrel and screw purging; Short Injection adds flow through nozzles or dead spots when needed — operators must confirm fitness before use.

Screw rotation method

  • The base method for general barrel and screw cleaning.
  • Set Back Pressure high enough to stop retreat with screw held forward.
  • Normal screw speed and previous-resin temperature to start.
  • Catch nozzle discharge and track color change visually.

Short injection method

  • Assists purging nozzle tips and dead spots screw rotation alone reaches poorly.
  • Release Back Pressure to zero for short shots per confirmed procedure.
  • Raise nozzle temperature and injection speed only where grade, machine and resin allow.
  • Repeat rhythmically, checking material every round, stopping at criteria.

Recommended order for fitting jobs: Screw rotation first with assessed amounts, then remaining ASACLEAN on Short Injection for nozzles and dead spots. The 20-30°C, 20 mm and 20-30 percent figures are a template-document framework, NOT mandatory values for every machine, and must never exceed grade or machine limits.
