What jobs fits UB

UB is a mechanical purging compound for PE blow molding, including injection and extrusion running PE-based resins. Fits color change, material change, carbon cleaning and shutdown and sealing preparation

Process
PE blow molding; injection including Hot Runner; extrusion profile, sheet, blown film and compounding
Resin
PE-based resins; TDS states PP use possible
Temperature
170–320°C
Objectives
Color change, material change, carbon residue and shutdown and sealing
Hot Runner
Usable with minimum 0.5 mm passage
Glass Fiber / Additives
TDS notes inorganic additives below 20%, type unstated
Soak
Not required
Residence / Screen
Max 30 min residence above 280°C; screen packs no finer than 100 mesh
Strengths

UB strengths

Formulated for PE jobs needing compatibility and easy system purging-out, with PE blow molding support

Reference amount

TDS generally states 1–2 times system capacity; actual amount depends on residue level and machine

Constraints

Limits before use

Never over 320°C; verify Hot Runner and die passage, and never use screen packs finer than 100 mesh

Check on site: Real PE grade, temperature, system capacity, clearance, screen mesh and residence time
Basic operation

Basic usage

  1. Confirm resins before and after purging are PE-based resins and temperature sits within 170–320°C
  2. Verify passage of at least 0.5 mm and screen packs no finer than 100 mesh
  3. Feed UB per trial plan; TDS states no soak
  4. Chase UB out with PE and check color or residue before production
