What jobs fits UF2

UF2 is a low-residue purging compound for PE film and sheet and PE jobs needing die-through purging without die removal. Fits transparent jobs, color or material change, and not-yet-carbonized gels

Process
Extrusion sheet, blown film, profile and compounding; injection including Hot Runner
Resin
PE-based resins, especially film and sheet
Temperature
170–320°C
Objectives
Low residue, transparent jobs, color and material change, and not-yet-carbonized gels
Hot Runner
Usable with minimum 0.5 mm passage
Glass Fiber / Additives
TDS notes inorganic additives below 10%, type unstated
Chaser
TDS states use as post-NewEX chaser to raise cleanliness and cut residue
Residence / Screen
Max 30 min residence above 280°C; screen packs no finer than 100 mesh, renewed after purging
Strengths

UF2 strengths

Die-through purging without die removal. Fits PE film and sheet jobs prioritizing low residue; TDS states no soak

Suited residue

Gels and not-yet-carbonized contamination; not the primary pick for severe carbon

Constraints

Limits before use

Never over 320°C; verify passage of at least 0.5 mm and renew screen packs after purging

Check on site: Film and sheet type, die, screen mesh, temperature and residue criteria
Basic operation

Basic usage

  1. Confirm resins before and after purging are PE-based resins and temperature sits within 170–320°C
  2. Verify die clearance of at least 0.5 mm and screen packs no finer than 100 mesh
  3. Feed UF2 per trial plan; TDS states no soak
  4. Renew screen packs after purging, then chase with PE until residue criteria pass
